Industrial Process Exhaust and Dust Control

Process fans should be selected from the gas properties and complete system resistance. Temperature, dust loading, corrosion, abrasion, density, altitude and control method can materially change fan performance and construction.

How this ventilation duty is arranged

01Identify gas and contaminants
02Calculate network resistance
03Set flow and pressure duty

Describe the conveyed gas

Provide gas temperature, density, moisture, corrosiveness and solids concentration. Particle size and abrasiveness influence impeller style, wear protection, cleanout access and allowable speed.

Use the real resistance curve

Include ducts, elbows, filters, cyclones, scrubbers, dampers and discharge losses. Add a reasonable design margin without oversizing so far that the fan operates inefficiently or requires excessive throttling.
